Hi,

I have a website that lists names and their meanings.

You can look through the girls section to come up with a name.

It's all alphabetically arranges, and many names show their meanings and origin.

Good luck and have fun!

Hi; someone linked here from Amy's humble musings...
Here is all I can come up with:

Nature-y names: Fire/Fiery, Flurry, Forest/Forrest, Fury, Fauna
Fleance (Banquo's son from Shakespeare's Macbeth)
Fontaine (fountain)
Fortune
Fulton

Rule-breakers:
Fern, Fawn, Freedom, Frieda, Flor

I am guessing these are not your style, but I will list them anyway:
Fionnula, Filberta, Faustina, Felicia, Felissa

ok. you don't know me, but i stumbled into your blog, and i could never resist a good contest. so here goes:

for a girl--

farah - joyful

faith - belief in God and acceptance of God's will

fallon - leader

for a boy--

fairman (sounds kinda cool)

either--

faran, faren

seems to me nobody ever really settles on names that are suggested to them but it was worth a shot.

you could always name the baby 'five'. LOL

hope you find a name for your new blessing!!

Well. Hmmm. I'm not that great at names, but I like the name 'Freeman', 'Fisher', and 'Finley'. How about 'Farren'? You could also re-spell another more traditional name like Phillip? Anyway, those are probably pretty weak, but it's a try.

Stumbled on your blog. F names are a bit difficult to come by. It might just be me, but the names Evan and Farah seem to "fit" together. I'm not sure it fits as well with the A-B-C names though.

Hi Christa,
I know that naming babies is a difficult task!
I found a few female names that you may
like:

Floria (Flora) - latin
Flannery - Irish
Farhanna - Arabic/Persian - means "lovely"
Fayette - French - meaning fairy
Florine - means "blooming"
Fola - African - means "honor"
Francisca - Spanish/Portuguese
Fransesca - Italian
I found many of these here:

I like Farhanna and Fayette the best :)
You won't hurt my feelings if you don't
like any of them . . . but "bragging rights"
sounds good!

See you soon,
Sue

I just stumbled across your blog and had to comment. I love names. I'm currently pregnant and am casting about for names too - I love surfing the SSI website. So I looked up F girl names for you - wow, that is hard. Especially if you don't like the ones that are sorta pretty like Frances and Fiona (I know, I know, matter of opinion). But seriously, the other options are like Florence, Flossie, and Flora. Names are serious business - why follow a rule you made up for yourself if it results in a name you are settling for? Maybe you should ditch F and move on to G :) My daughter is named Genevieve Grace and we call her Evie for short. Best wishes!
